New Insurance Protects Expensive Gadgets

Engadget readers will be glad to read this story. A new kind of insurance plan will cover you in case of theft or accidental damage to your gadget. Since deductibles can run anywhere from $500 to $1000 and gadgets do not, insurance companies are now offering special policies you can tag on to your existing homeowner's insurance. The cost varies, but is usually around $5 a month for a cell phone or iPod.
