My Crushpad Allows Virtual Winemaking
We've written about Crushpad, the winery that lets you make your own wine, before. Now the San Francisco winery is taking wine creation to the web with MyCrushpad, an Internet portal that lets people be involved in the production of their own wine via the web. Crushpad already has 150 winemaking customers in 20 states and three countries and this service lets them make decisions on the progress of their wine via the web. Crushpad sources grapes from California vineyards and provides complete winemaking services to non-traditional winemakers. Before MyCrushpad, only local customers could fully access the process. Features of My Crushpad include Wine Manager, a web application for monitoring and management of the winemaking process, a discussion area for customers and Crushpad winemakers, and CrushpadCam, webcams that provide real-time video of the Crushpad facility which means winemakers can virtually monitor the processing of their fruit and general winery operations.
