Starck Sets Up "House" in Dallas
Throw a cowboy hat on Phillipe Starck, he's going to Dallas. Starck is bringing an $80-million House by Starck and Yoo to Victory Park. The 26-story tower is a typically Starck design with plenty of glass, white concrete and stainless steel. It will break ground in early 2006. The House by Starck and YOO starts with bottom levels which will include a grocery store, restaurants and other retail space. Upstairs will be 150 residences, 140 one to three bedroom units ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 square feet located on floors 5 through 22. Then there are the penthouses, ten units that are two to three bedrooms plus dens ranging from 2,000 to more than 3,500 square feet on the upper four floors. The penthouses on the 25th floor are two-story units with views of the city below. The fifth floor has an outdoor terrace that covers the parking garage; it includes a swimming pool, cabanas as well as outdoor seating and dining areas. This level also includes a fitness room, owners lounge, and a library/business center. The House will be ready to occupy in early 2008 and apartments will run from $350,000 to $2 million. The residences in the W Hotel in Dallas seem to be selling briskly so these will probably get snapped up fast.
