Vintage Rolex 6062 Triple Date Moon on eBay

This vintage Rolex 6062 Triple Date Moon phase is one of the rarest collectible watches on the market and is considered by watch aficianados to be the best Rolex ever made. The case is 36mm 18K solid yellow gold and the dial is Gold Star, a rare, limited feature. The reference 6062 was the first Rolex wristwatch model to show the day, date and phases of the moon incombination. Furthermore, known as the "phantom crown'' in Rolex advertisements, the "super-oyster'' crown was also introduced. The watch is going for $60,000 on Ebay and in perfect working condition. This same watch recently sold at Sotheby's for $100,000.

As an interesting side note, there was a story on Forbes.com stating that "Patek Philippe holds most of the records for sales of watches at auction, including the $11 million realized in 1999 at Sotheby's New York for one of the most complicated watches ever made."
