Hermes Apologizes to Oprah
We've been following this Oprah story with interest. Apparently, the Hermés store in Paris made the mistake of turning away talk show queen Oprah from their store last week when she tried to go in to buy a watch. The excuse being given is that the store was closed for a public relations event. In a statement, the store said that Hermes regrets the incident and "apologizes for any offense taken due to such circumstances." Oprah is calling it her "crash moment" (the name is taken from the recent movie that touches on racism in Los Angeles). Oprah did show up fifteen minutes after the store had closed but admittedly she is a big customer (she is a huge fan of their ultra-pricey Birkin bags). Who's in the right here? Should the store have opened its door or is Oprah being a prima donna?

A quelle heure fermez-vous?
So Oprah will not be gifting Herm?on her extravaganza give-away themed episodes...

Once the store is closed, why should a guard be posted at the door just in case any celebrities show up? Obviously Hermes, who was in business when Winfrey was still living in a shack in Mississippi, knows how to run a retail operation. I think the display of entitlement shown by Ms. Winfrey may blow up in her face.

I understand that most people are not familiar with how the wealthy shop and do business; if they did then maybe they would be able to comprehend that the actions taken were out of line. Yes Oprah knows how business is conducted and so does her associates. Often they do not call after hours because it is understood that if the store closes at 5 then the staff stays until 6 at least to give those who shop without notice and press the privacy that they deserve. Oprah very seldom shops in stores anyway. This was for a friend and it was personal. A crash moment yes. Would this be a point of conflict if Paris Hilton/ Madonna/ Britney Spears/ Jessica Simpson came in with an entourage of people with them? We really need to wake up and understand that not all people are treated equal no matter where you are.

Its simple. Oprah is not as big as a real celebrity as Madonna/Brittney/J-Lo, thats why she was treated like a "commoner". Oh no, what a thought, being treated fairly like a commoner is no longer acceptable for this stupid-azz lazy f%^$ so lets classify it as CRASH moment... give me a break. Lameassshit

This is the same b**** that made a comment on national tv saying she doesn't know the difference between a home depot vs. Costco. She then made a mockery of the audience... She is constantly biting the hand that is feeding her, but the stupid azz crowds love her for her no talent.
