Gore Vidal House
One of our favorite man-about-town bloggers, The Corsair, points out that Gore Vidal's Italian retreat La Rondinaia is up for sale. The home,on the Amalfi coast perched high on a cliff, has six bedrooms, two studies, and 20 terraces to soak in the amazing views from every room. The NY Post's Cindy Adams waxes rhapsodic about the place which has hosted Sting, Bruce Springsteen and Mick Jagger among others. She also indicates that Ralph Lauren has checked out the pad for possible purchase. While Adams lists the price at $17 million, the listing says 16 million euros which is closer to $20 million. But hey, what's a few million when you are talking about literary history up for grabs.

It's an amazing property. Was used by director Wes Anderson for the house in the film The Life Aquatic. I think Vidal now lives full time in Los Angeles.
