Auction Napa Valley Reaches Record Levels
We knew it was going to be big. With lots like the chance to have a walk-on part in Desperate Housewives or to purchase the final collaboration of the Mondavi brothers, Auction Napa Valley had some of the most eclectic and exciting lots of any charity auction we have ever seen. This story in the Press Democrat summarizes the wild evening of bidding. Jay Leno hosted the event which brought in a record-setting $10 million, nearly double last year's results. Hatcher's lot went for $300,000, the Mondavi brothers wine brought in $401,000 but the big lot of the evening, which consisted of four rare three-litre bottles from Colgin Cellars and a dinner for eight at the winery in St. Helena, went for a record $650,000. Proceeds from Auction Napa Valley go to benefit local health, children and housing organizations.
