The Life Airborne with Steve Fossett
Oh to be Steve Fossett, when he's not breaking records flying
around the world in the Global Flyer for Richard Branson, he's flying with the Vimy Project. For Branson, he
flew the latest technology but now he's joined up with Mark Rebholz to relaunch the Vickers Vimy Project. Fossett and
Robholz are getting ready to recreate the 1919 Transatlantic flight from St John's, Newfoundland in Canada to
Clifden, Co, Galway, Ireland by British flyers John W. Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown.Fossett and Robholz launched on
Thursday from Novato, California and plan to head to Newfoundland for their transatlantic flight between the second and
third week of June. The plane is a twin-engine replica bomber which is the world's largest flying biplane with a
70-foot wingspan. Like with the Global Flyer there is a website so that we can allow follow along with the
flight's progress.
