The perverse humor and hypocracy of Schwartzenegger's complicity in reviving cigar smoking's status at the same time he was Bush Sr.'s chair of the President's Council On Physical Fitness is dwarfed only by Rush Limbaugh's drug hoarding and addiction. It may be a laudable libertarian position to let smokers smoke privately, or even smoke what they choose, but any person concerned about how he affects the health of others might consider how their smoke tends to enter smoke-free buildings while trapped in closed courtyards, circumventing intended protective boundaries. His churlish response to lawmakers' health-oriented bills is beneath his position as Governor of our state. It's not just about him or his celebrity, it's about looking out for the rest of us. He's still free to play "sultan" and hold his club-like meetings, if that's the image he wants to present.
