The Australian Wine Glut
We talked yesterday about the dangerous wine situation in France. Australia is also having a surplus problem. Although 2005 looks to be a good-quality year, falling grape prices and an increase in grape production may lead to vineyards to let their grapes rot on the vine. Growers report feeling squeezed by companies who are offering lower prices and this could have quite an effect on the economy. Sounds like we all need to drink more wine.
