It's Not Just the Car That Is Fancy, It's the Showroom Too
Autoblog covers a story in the LA Daily News about car shopping with the ultra-monied crowd. The experience of picking out the car is crucial to those who are paying the big bucks. At Galpin's slick new Aston Martin showroom, buyers go through a sliding polished aluminum door opened by a fingerprint scanner. Does a fancy bathroom cause someone to buy a car? Not really but in a situation where the haggle is not an option and a car is tailored to the customer like a couture outfit, the buyer wants the best service possible. If the customer wants the showroom closed so he can show his wife the car in private, then the dealer closes the showroom. Of course you have to wonder if having a martini while choosing your next ride is a good thing, you might wake up with a hangover and a tapped bank account.
