Yachtwatch: How Big Is Too Big?
Can a yacht actually be too big? Larry Ellison was reportedly jubilant that his yacht was the biggest thing in town (beating Paul Allen's Octopus by a healthy almost 39 feet) but things have changed. A yacht that big can't play in the some of the smaller island harbors where the elite like to gather so Larry Ellison is selling his beauty. We're hoping this news doesn't freak out the Crown Prince of Dubai, whose 525-foot Project Platinum shown here took to the seas for its first trial runs last week (a full set of pictures are up at YachtForums.com). A rumored buyer for the Rising Sun is Lakshmi Mittal, for whom price clearly isn't a concern).
