Cork or Screwtop?
Wine Spectator recently asked readers to vote on their opinion of the "great cork debate" which they featured in a recent issue. Logic and science prove that there is nothing wrong with screwtop wine and in factscrewtops can prevent the dreaded cork taint which can destroy a perfectly good bottle. Still, the readers of Wine Spectator are traditionalists and voted overwhelmingly in favor (80%) of the cork. As much as I adore the ritual of wine (the fussing with the cork, the subtle pop) I have to vote with the losing side and agree that the screwtops can be a viable alternative.
