Burj Dubai--The World's Tallest Tower
Once again, Dubai is setting new records, this time by creating Burj Dubai a building that will eventually be the world's tallest skyscraper. How tall? At least 189 stories, including the knee-weakening Sky Lobby on the 123rd floor. The tower will feature a hotel, restaurants, luxury apartments, and indoor/outdoor pool on the 78th floor. The National Post reports that all 700 hundred of the apartments available have already sold out and the building will be opening in 2008. Does this design remind anyone else of Fritz Lang's Metropolis?
