What Is The Future Of Jet Travel?
This article on CNET imagines that in ten years everyone will be zooming around in small jets which take them exactly where they want to go. One company seeking to make this happen is Pogo Jet, a new company which plans to have small jets that fly customers directly to the small airport of their choice with no annoying layovers. A simple enough idea and one that other companies are also eager to adopt. The fly in the ointment is that this business model relies on FAA approval of the Very Light Jets that the system will use. Also the possibilities for operator error, missed flights and the fickleness of the market run high. Providing private jet service is a risky venture but one that more and more companies seem willing to take a chance on. In the long run, the consumer will benefit but in the short run it's definitely caveat emptor.
