Adidas 1 Hits The Stores Today
Our older sibling blog, Engadget first reported about the Adidas 1 way back in
May of last year but it has taken a while for the shoe to
actually hit the market. Today the shoes are finally in stores. The Adidas 1 $250 running shoe features a
microprocessor and a motorized cable system to automatically adjust cushioning depending on
how hard you run. Like the iPod (which everyone seems to be comparing the shoes to) the Adidas 1 has battery
issues but thelithium batteries in the shoes are replaceable and the chip shuts itself off
if the runner is just walking for over 10 minutes. Since runners usually replace their shoes every 500 miles, it
would seem to make more sense to have a processor that was transferable from pair to pair. Also the shoes have
gold accents. Did we learn nothing from the iPod gold
mini? The Flash-heavy Adidas one website has a list of where you can find these high test
kicks.
