The Diamond Laptop
At this point, diamond-dusted laptops are no big surprise so when Engadget showed this little Tulip E-Go we wearily went to check it out. The Diamond E-Go features white gold plates that are pave set with 80 carats of diamonds. 80 carats? The blurb goes on to define these diamonds by saying that the "brilliant cut diamonds are microscopic and pave set with surgical precision." Indeed, it is literally diamond-dusted. There's also a couple of teeny rubies involved in the Tulip logo. Price? 283,000 euros (that's over $380,000). The style of the computer is i-Book, the early years, and the diamonds are placed around the trackpad where it looks like they might easily end up scratching the palm. We're all for throwing money at something, but this computer seems to lack both aesthetic and functional appeal.
