They were sampling it at my local CostCo.  It impressed me as being like a watered-down version of real caviar.  The flavors were not as distinctive, and the textures were more mushy than real caviar.  If it were, say, $1/oz. it'd be worth it, especially as the party wears on and guests are sufficiently anaesthetized to be unable to tell the difference.  But over $5/oz?  No way.
