Will These Be New York's Most Expensive Apartments?
It looks like the building shown here will become a reality. Santiago Calatrava's cubes building in New York
City has gotten the okay from the New York City Department of Buildings. The eight-story base will be a museum
and there will be two lower commercial units followed by ten townhomes which will be connected by three
elevators. Each cube will also have its own internal elevator. The entire structure will be 1,000 feet and
concrete piles will be driven 190 feet down into bedrock for stability. We thought the
Plaza would be pricey but developer Frank Sciame promises
that this building "will be the most expensive residential tower in the city." Gulp!
