Liqueurs of Love
The Dallas Morning News has an article on liqueurs for Valentine's Day. In many ways, liqueurs make more sense as a romantic quaff than champagne since they are sweet, potent and often sensually sticky. The article covers a wide range of liqueurs from Godiva, Amaretto and Limoncello to newer treats like Hypnotiq. The new pink drink on the block is the X-Rated Fusion liqueur which is a mix of vodka, passionfruit and blood orange. I'm more of a fan of an aged port or a late-harvest chardonnay or other dessert wine than liqueurs but some of these are worth trying. I advise, however, steering clear of the Tequila Rose mentioned in the article.
