Giorgio Armani's first-ever couture line had its runway debut yesterday. Vogue UK has the complete set of runway shots. The line appears much more street-ready than most couture and it seems likely that many of the dresses will make red carpet appearances. The overall design was heavy on ornamentation with lots of tassels,beads and the ever-present Swarovski crystals. The styles were simply cut with lots of close-fitted mermaid-tailed dresses and flowing skirts. The collection of 35 dresses starts at around $20,000 each. Armani plans his second couture collection for July.
