The Costco Picasso
Dear readers it appears that we have been steering you wrong by showing you auctions from Sotheby's, Christie's and
other dealers. Apparently the modern art goods are at Costco. CNET has this story about a Picasso drawing
which sold on Costco's website for $39,999. The work, signed and dated Nov. 29, 1970 comes with a declaration of
authenticity by Picasso's daughter Maya. Florida art dealer Jim Tutwiler says he has been selling art through
Costco for a decade and the doodle was the second Picasso he has sold through the retailer. Picasso, Costco, who
knew?
