Today "serious bidders" get a peek at New York's first $70 million dollar apartment. Martin
Zweig's three-story penthouse is located at the top
of the Pierre Hotel on Central Park at Fifth Avenue. The price tag easily outpaces the current record for
Manhattan apartment sales ($42.5 million). The apartment takes up floors 41-43 and has 11,000 square feet
including a 2,800 square foot grand salon with 23-foot high ceilings. The apartment also has a $48,000-a-
month maintenance fee which includes the full hotel treatment including maid and room services as well as a 24-hour
concierge.
